1973, Philips SL75/20 linear electron accelerator in treatment room 6 (currently A3).
Philips cobalt machine in treatment room 4 (currently A5). This new type of cobalt machine has been introduced shortly before by Philips.
The picture of the treatment room shows the interior design that has been kept very basic. The surface structure of the stacked concrete blocks remains visible under a transparant colour wash in white, yellow, red or blue. The floor is dark green, covered with linoleum. In the adjacent maze the dark red linoleum is visible that was at that time used everywhere in the Netherlands Cancer Institute. The interior is furnished with straight steel office furniture.
The Philips SL75/super linear electron accelerator in treatment room 5 (currently A4). This accelerator has been moved from the Sarphatistraat, where it has been in use since 1968. During the removal, the manually driven diaphragm was replaced by an electrically powered system.
The orthovoltage unit is a 250 kV X-ray system from Philips.
100 kV Endo therapy X-ray system (left), 50 kV contact therapy X-ray system (right) , both from Philips.
